It was a British ship and it was the world's largest passenger ship. This ship was sunk on May 7th, 1915 by German U-boat with a loss of 1,198 people and 128 were Americans. This led the United States to declare war on Germany in 1917.

Interesting context, I didn't know it was the largest passenger ship at the time. You might consider adding the fact that the sinking of the Lusitania led Wilson to condemn the German use of submarine warfare.
