Paula Jones was working in the Arkansas state department when she first crossed paths with later-President Bill Clinton. Her allegations against him took place in Arkansas when Clinton invited her to his hotel room and had her escorted there. Then, he proceeded to "expose" himself to her without her consent. Jones kept quiet about the incident until three years later when she launched her sexual harassment suit against the President of the United States. The case was overthrown by the revelation that Clinton was having an affair while in office with Monica Lewinsky, a White House intern.
Not only did the Lewinsky scandal make American society momentarily forget about Jones' lawsuit, but it further vilified Clinton, which did help in Jones' case after all. Initially, Jones was looking for $750,000 in damages, and by the end of the trial, Clinton settled for 850,000 in exchange for her dropping the appeal against him. The entire case, in part, led to the impeachment of President Bill Clinton and changed the political trajectory of America forever.

Because of the rising drama between President Clinton and Lewinsky, Paula Jones was able to use that attention and win the case against the president of the US who sometimes is above the laws
Interesting Post. Personal life seemed to increase in popular interest in the '90s. So much so, that even the president wasn't safe in his professional role.
Neat! I liked that your post touched on the specifics of the dynamic between the scandal, the media's focus, and the political climate. I found it interesting that Clinton decided to pay Jones to drop the case after he had already been "exposed."
