Segregation in Marriage
In 1870 and 1884, eleven southern states passed laws that were against "interracial marriage". This thought to be one the worst segregation laws they had because the blacks were a lower rank to the white people and if they had married one another, it would look bad to the "white race". This goes out for all types of races because in some states they banned interracial marriage not only between the blacks and whites but also with Asians and American Indian's
