Battle of Dunkirk

The Battle of Dunkirk lasted from late May to early June of 1940 on the beaches of France. The Battled was the evacuation of Brittish forces. The German Army was advancing towards the allies by way of Franco-German border. The Germans were to Capture Calais and other ports, which would trap many allied soldiers before the rescue. The allies' morale was quite low; they did not have much confidence that they would be successful. Churchill even warned them to have "hard and heavy tiding".The evacuation would not have been successful if it had not been for the German forces issuing a 3 day halt. That time period was long enough for the allies to rescue over 330,000 men from the beach.

I guess this might go to show how disoriented the German army was. With the amount of forces that were thinly spread in multiple areas, I guess they needed to take a halt and regroup. This gave the Allied forces the perfect opportunity to slide in and rescue hundreds of thousands of men.

Such a cool picture of Harry Styles! You did a really good job explaining how the German army realized that they weren't well put together and that they didn't have a very good game plan and how to move forward.
