It is believed that Clinton started a relationship with her when she began working in the White House, and she confided in Linda Tripp, who tried to help her by telling her to hold on to evidence of Clinton's interactions with her, including his gifts to her. As disgusting as it sounds, one of these pieces of evidence was a "semen-stained blue dress" that was tested and identified as containing bodily fluid belonging to Clinton.
Clinton addressed the allegations in a White House press conference where he said that he did not have sexual relations with Lewinsky, and changed the topic to his State of the Union speech he needed to prepare for. On August 17, 1998, however, he admitted that he had an "improper" relationship with Lewinsky.
Many of the Democrats on his own side accused him of perjury and obstruction of justice, impeachable offenses, which led to the House of Representatives issuing Articles of Impeachment against him that resulted in a 21-day trial.

It's interesting to learn about this trial, especially as the Clinton family is still politically active today. Learning about the impeachment of President Clinton and the way that he handled these allegations is very entertaining.
It's humbling to know that even the best of our nation, the people elected to take care of it, make terrible mistakes too. Nobody is perfect. However, considering the fact that Clinton thought he could get away with such a scandal and was eventually caught says something good about our Government.
