Hillary Clinton
At the beginning of the 2008 presidential campaign, Hillary Clinton was considered to be one of the favorites democratic presidential nominee. The reason for this was because her husband Bill Clinton was president for 2 years and Hillary served as a senator for 6 years. There was a little issue that came up with Hillary and the problem was concerning the Iraq war. People had recalled that Hillary was one of the people who voted in favor of going into war. When asked in public she said she would never go into war and would not want the Iraq war. This confused a lot of people because if she had voted to go into the war, why was she all of a sudden changing her answer and trying to defend her old one.

The remaining negative sentiments regarding the US involvement in the Iraq War left a bad taste in the mouths of the American people. Not only did they distrust Clinton for her mixed statements regarding the Iraq War, Obama was able to appeal to small states and won caucus's which built up much more support for his campaign.
Hilary changed up her words which is why I believe that Obama got the chance to win even when he was losing at first. Obama knew what he was talking about and he seem very sure of what he was saying and he always stated the same things and never changed it up like Clinton did.
